* il Padrino is not a new addition to istanbul; in fact it's been there for 8 years. Still, it is one of the most talked about italian restaurants in town. People are drawn there simply by word of mounth, and with good reason. The food is absolutely scrumptious and the atmosphere is friendly and professional. The menu consists of a variety of pizzas, pastas, meat and seafood dishes. I had my favorite meal: a plate of pasta. As I've sampled nearly every plate of pasta in istanbul. I can say with confidence that il padrino's is one of the best.
The pizza is the perfect size for one person, and seems to be a popular pick. Plus, there's an open salad bar: il padrino's desserts are a must. The cheesecake is again, one of the best I've had in istanbul, and the tramisu is absolutely divine. The owner is very friendly and perhaps this is one of reasons people keep coming back. It's almost as if you're in someone's home rather than a restaurant. il padrino is a classic, sure to be attracting hungry patrons for years come.
